DERMAWARE
A Crisis of Habits, Not Resources." At Dermaware, we tackle the dermatological crisis in Peru through technological education and behavioral change. By bridging the gap between medical expertise and digital accessibility, we empower communities across all socioeconomic levels to build a lasting culture of skin cancer prevention.
Human-Centered Education We leverage Human-Centered Design (HCD) to transform complex clinical information into dynamic, fast, and easy-to-digest educational experiences. Our goal is universal accessibility—ensuring that life-saving knowledge is understood by everyone, regardless of their background.
Data-Driven Insights We don't just design; we investigate. We collect real-time user data to identify critical pain points in health habits. This data serves as the foundation for our ongoing academic research, as we develop a formal research paper to prove how UX and technology can effectively solve public health challenges.

THE MISSION
To transform a "Crisis of Habits" into a "Culture of Prevention" by using Human-Centered Design to make clinical knowledge accessible, fast, and universal.
STRATEGIC VALUE:
DermAware bridges the gap between medical scarcity and public health necessity. By evolving from a grassroots initiative into a Social Innovation & Research Organization, we create a sustainable ecosystem where corporate wellness funds community safety. This model strengthens our partners' brand reputation while saving lives through systemic design.
OBJECTIVES:
The team’s goal was to dismantle the dermatological care gap by transforming primary and secondary prevention into a scalable, gamified habit. We aimed to inform and educate children and high-exposure adults (teachers, firefighters, workers) while gathering robust field data for international scientific validation.
RESULTS
-
"Access to a dermatologist is a statistical privilege in Peru; we designed a solution to make prevention a universal right."
-
Global Partnerships: Secured strategic alliances with industry leaders like ISDIN.
-
Medical Leadership: Scaled and led a 20+ member team, including graduated physicians (MDs).
-
Systemic Efficiency: Designed and implemented the "40/20 Protocol" to optimize field operations and data accuracy.Evidence-Based UX: Developed a formal research paper based on user pain points to prove the link between design and health prevention.
